The Road to my Mansion!

Well, when I relocated to Bangalore to join my first job 7 yrs ago, I stayed in a small room that was 'underground'. The land lord had converted an office space into few glass-partitioned rooms...mine was roughly 4ft-by-7ft...good enuf for me to enter, sleep, get up and come out!...few weeks into my stay, I caught a severe fever and decided that its time to get out of that dungeon!

Next stop, a twin-sharing room in a logde-like setup. I shared the room with my colleague. The room was above ground-level (a big relief!) and was a little better than the previous one. So, I put up with it for few months.

My friend at office (lets call him 'Pax' :)), who was staying in the same place, decided to move from this hostel-like environment to a more peaceful 'guest house' accom in the nearby residential area. As he couldn't find a roommate, he approached me and I said 'ok'.

Our new house, the so called 'guest' house, was more like a BIG rat hole!, to say the least. We were still ok with the place because of the peaceful neighbourhood, friendly house-owners etc...

After an year or so, Pax wanted to move to an apartment as his brother, who had completed studies, wanted to move to bangalore in search of a good job. So then, we move to a two-bedroom apartment nearby (for a higher rent, of course!). But, this was the first time I lived in a house with more than one room (in bangalore). It felt real good to be able to move around inside the house!

After few months, I got married, me and my wife moved to a new house in the nearby locality. That house was a real good one. The locality, connectivity, neighbours, house-owners everything was too good to be true!

After an year or so there, my company decided to finally move to its big campus, which was on the other side of the city. So, we were forced to relocate to the other side.

Our new house wasn't worth the rent. Every month we felt so stupid to pay such a hefty rent for a junk old house. The house-owners were annoying too. So, we decided to get out of there ASAP. That is when we moved to our HOME!

We moved to our own 2-bedroom apartment, free from pollution, city traffic and nasty house-owners. It really feels great to own a place to stay and call it 'Home'!

Dungeon -> Room -> Hole -> House -> Home, sweet home!

I dunno if the journey was worth it, but, it feels good to look back the road I just travelled! :)

Crash!

Well, this post is not about an infamous Windoz feature or the situation prevailing in the world markets these days. This is about the movie that I happened to watch yesterday. Very good movie...neatly done!...Its about *racism*. We all possess it - some know, many don't - that's the only difference. The storyline runs like a river, through more than ten different characters, beautifully! No wonder it won several Oscars...

Don't expect any action or melodrama. If you have time and patience to watch a good movie, go ahead.

The tagline of the movie..."You think you know who you are. You have no idea."
