Mission Kannada!

Ok, its been more than 7 yrs since I moved to Bangalore. In the beginning, I tried to speak in kannada _only_ to communicate with my niece, who was very little then and understood only kannada...

After all these years, even though I can manage to speak in kannada, I can't read the script. So, decided that its high time I tame this beast!...

So, I've decided to dedicate the month of March 2007 to this noble cause! :)

As this is going to my first venture in this front as a grown-up, I will use this period to gauge how well and how fast I can pick up the skill...its not gonna be easy!

Come April, If I can read atleast few letters/words written in kannada without erring, I'll consider this mission a success!

Will keep you posted!, wish me luck! :)

Scotland Yard!

This is my new time-pass board game!. Cool game were you are required to use your 'brain' to win!, unlike my earlier time-pass game, "Business" (heard of 'Monopoly'?), which is mostly dependent on luck!

If you have more than 3 people at home, not knowing what to do to kill time on weekends, try this one, highly stimulating for the brain cells!

A weekend for movies!

Last weekend, managed to watch 3 movies - 2 tamil and 1 hindi, all sitting in the same couch! :)

The tamil movies were 'Pokkiri' (Vijay) and 'Veyyil' (Pasupathy). Pokkiri was full-n-full hopeless Vijay masala. I would have witnessed at least 1000 killings in the movie (could be a record for tamil movies!) . It was a movie made purely for die-hard Vijay fans who care a damn for any logic.
Veyyil, on the otherhand, was a well-crafted movie. Too 'senti' at times. But, many can relate to their own lives. Pasupathy has done an excellent job as a hero. Kudos dude!

The hindi movie was KANK - Kabhi Alvida Naa Keyena. Well, the look of New york city was great and actors' costume were trendy! Can't say anything more about the movie...it was a twisted drama with all actors confused as much as the director himself, Karan Johar. If you really have lots of time to kill and are adamant on watching a stupid movie, try this one! God Bless you!
